You asked for it and so it shall be!
Beginner Suspension Intensive with Fred_Rx
19th – 20th September 2015
Level: improvers and intermediate
Location: Luke & Jack – 45 Virginia St Glasgow
Cost: £150 per partnership – you must bring your own partner
Times: 1030 to 1630 both days
Equipment: You should aim to bring all your own equipment. There will be a limited amount of carabiners and rings available.
*please note you MUST be able to tie a “TK” style chest tie without instruction. You will not be able to benefit from this class if you cannot*
This class is exactly as the description: for those who want to take the step from the floor to the air you can do so under close instruction with an experienced tutor in a safe and supportive environment. If you are relatively new to suspension but already flying you will probably get a lot of this class too. This is quite possibly the best way to learn the basics and reduce your chances of dangerous mistakes!
Fred_Rx began tying several years ago, when he discovered he didn’t have enough hands to restrain and hurt people with. He started out using whatever combination of Eastern and Western ties seemed most effective, but quickly learned that rope could be used for play and torture in its own right.
He has been using suspension as part of his play for many years also and has lots of tips and tricks to pass onto those beginning their journey.
Box Tie for Beginners
aka it’s not as difficult as it looks
|Date & Time:||Sunday, May 10, 2015 ·12:30 PM – 4:30 PM|
Luke & Jack
45 Virginia St, Glasgow @ map
|Cost:||£5 per person|
|Dress code:||Comfortable casual wear. No underwear or lingerie please.|
Level: Beginner and up
The versatile workhorse of rope bondage, the box tie is the foundation of many floor work and suspension ties in both eastern and western styles. Despite its complicated appearance even beginners can tie a safe and functional box tie and understanding the building blocks of this tie is a good foundation for other styles of tie too.
Mr Knotty will lead this session and will show the basics of a 2 rope “TK” style box tie. If there’s time we might even get onto the 3rd rope.
There are no suspension points at this venue and so whilst this tie can be used for suspensions no suspension will be taught.
Hands Free Harnesses
aka thinking outside the box tie
Location: Luke & Jack’s, 45 Virginia St, Glasgow, G1 1TS
Time: 1230 to 1630
Level: open to all comers including beginners
Equipment needed: any style of rope (workshop rope available for new people)
Description: Lots of people find the often taught box tie doesn’t work for them or their partner and other chest harnesses often focus on the look rather than the function. There are other excellent options out there with the hands left free to allow a wider variety of positions to suit all body shapes and ranges of flexibility. We will cover a couple of useful ties both from Japanese style tying and from European styles designed for groundwork and suspension. No actual suspension is taught at this class although tips will be given to advanced students already practicing suspensions.
Tying the male physique
aka not all rope bottoms are 45kg Japanese girls!
With the Winter coming to an end and spring around the corner STORE returns to Luke & Jack with the Tying the Male Physique workshop. It’s well known that the majority of resources out there presume that a female body is being tied. It’s also no surprise that ties that look fantastic on the female body are a tad unflattering on a male. Chest ties particularly.
That’s why STORE will be running a class dedicated to the art of making our boy bottoms look and feel their best in rope.
We make no presumptions about gender and are simply talking about body shape.
Date: Saturday 7th March 2015, 1230 to 1630
Venue: Luke & Jack, 45 Virginia St, Glasgow
Cost: £5 per person – pay on the door
Facilitators for this session:
AijinNawa– has been tying up boys of all genders for a few years now and has spent significant time in the last 2 years thinking about the differences between rope that works for male and female bodies. She is keen to promote the tying of men and encourage them to explore the ropes on both sides. Men come in all shapes and sizes and all of them can be beautiful!
- Practicalities of working with the male body
- Chest ties that don’t give “man boobs”
- Overcoming strength with technique
- Practical positions to keep a man in his place
